‘What is your story?’ - FREE webinar
I wanted to share with you a FREE webinar that Laura Henry-Allian is hosting on Thursday 16th May 2024. ‘What is your story? Keeping the voice of the child centre at all times’ You may recall that ‘What is your story?’ was a theme that ran through Laura’s ‘My Family. Your Family’ Book Launch Conference as Laura believes that in asking this question as a way of helping to understand why we do what we do personally and professionally. The webinar will amplify how everyone’s story is woven in their day-to-day lives. The webinar will also explore the significance of keeping the needs of children at the centre of all decisions and how this impacts children’s learning and development. Laura will be joined by Garry Ratclife, CEO of the Golden Thread Alliance, Multi Academy Trust; (Garry as you may recall provided a keynote at Laura’s conference – this is a different keynote!) and he will be sharing the Golden Thread Alliance values, Respect, Equality, Courage, Integrity, Ambition, Kindness, and Responsibility and how they are central to everything within the nine schools the trust oversees. He will also share how he and his husband have adoped for children all with different needs and abilities. There will also be an opportunity for questions and reflections. Places are limited – booking is via the following link: What’s Your Story? -

Exporting Relative Details
In this tutorial we’re going to look at how to export your relative’s details from Tapestry. Doing this will provide you with either a PDF or CSV file showing all your relative’s details which include: names, emails, phone numbers, collection passwords and linked children. First, click your name in the top right and then select Control Panel. Within Control Panel, select Manage Relatives from the menu on the left and then scroll to the bottom of this page. At the bottom you will see two options for exporting your relative’s details: export as a PDF and export as a CSV. Clicking either of these will automatically start downloading in your preferred format. The CSV format will look something like this: And the PDF will look something like this: Back to Main Tutorials Page -

Collection password on registers
Hi there. I'm just getting in touch to let you know you can now add a "collection password" to a relative's account! You'll see the box when adding any new relative, but you can also add one for existing relatives by clicking "edit" next to their name on the Manage Relatives screen. The collection passwords for all relatives can be viewed by exporting your relative's details. Just scroll down to the bottom of Manage Relatives and you'll see two options for exporting the list. We are also making some changes to how you navigate Tapestry soon, and the collection password will be made more visible after we do so. Would you like me to contact you again when those navigation changes occur? I look forward to hearing from you soon :)- 1

Professionally printed copies of the journals
We have teamed up with a publisher, Group Hugs, to offer professionally printed copies of children’s journals. Prices start at £14.95 + postage and can be purchased by the schools and settings or by parents and carers directly. When managers on a Tapestry account export PDF copies of the journals for parents and carers, the relatives will see an option to purchase a printed copy of the journal, alongside the existing option to download the PDF copy for free. Relatives, schools, and settings can also order printed journals by uploading PDF copies to Group Hugs. This is particularly useful when it comes to ordering backdated copies. In a few weeks you will also be able to purchase multiple copies at once. You can see more information and the full price list on our tapestry.info website. -

Bespoke Frameworks Summative Assessment Screen
Today we have released a Summative Assessment screen for Bespoke Frameworks. That joins the Thoroughness screens in the Tracking menu. Those of you who have added one or more Bespoke Frameworks can use this screen to: View and monitor attainment for each child in each period. You’ll be able to see the assessments that have already been made. This is shown via a tick next to the parts of your framework that have been selected, and a drop down displaying the most recently chosen scale. You’ll also be able to tap on ‘Show Details’ to see a list of the corresponding observations and any overrides that have been made in this period. Override any assessments you think need updating, and add quick new assessments. You can use the tick boxes and scale drop downs to make assessments – these can be overrides of existing ones or filling in gaps. You can add as many assessments as you like in one go, but they will have to be per child. Once you have saved your assessments, a new ‘staff only’ observation will be created to act as a record – that way you will be able to easily see who added the assessments and when. You can edit those observations to add any notes or evidence if you’d like. Lock each period for each child. If a period is not quite over yet, but you don’t want any further observations made during it to impact what is recorded in the summative assessment screen, you can ‘Lock’ it. Export data to CSV or PDF. This is our latest monitoring screen for bespoke frameworks, but it won’t be last! The next one is most likely to focus on progress. If you have requests for what you’d like to see in that, please get in touch – customer.service@eyfs.info. The Bespoke Frameworks feature is available to all Tapestry users as part of your subscription. To see more about it please take a look at our Bespoke Framework feature page.- 1

How to purchase a printed book of your child's journal
We at Tapestry are working with a publisher, Group Hugs, to offer parents and carers the ability to purchase printed copies of their children's learning journals. This tutorial will talk you through how to purchase them. Take a look at our video below to see how they will look! To buy a printed version of your child's journal, a PDF will need to be generated by your child's school or setting first. If they need any support with it, please ask them to contact us at customer.service@eyfs.info. Some useful things for them to note are: The journal needs to be exported by a manager from the Control Panel. The purchase option will not appear for any other PDFs e.g. the one that can be generated by selecting multiple observations on the Observations page. We recommend including the 'cover page' in the export (this option is included by default). We also recommend adding a profile picture for the child - Group Hugs use the image used from the cover page for the front cover of the printed book. If there is no cover page or no profile picture, then the child's photo will be replaced with an image of a tree. Now, onto what you can do as the parent or carer! Start by logging into Tapestry using the web browser version through our login page, https://tapestryjournal.com/. If you have any difficulties logging in, please contact your child's teacher, key person, or childminder and they will be able to help you. Once you are logged in, click on your name in the top right of the screen (1) and select 'Your Downloads’ from the drop-down list (2). On the Downloads page you should see all downloads you have available. Click the ‘Download’ (1) button to download your PDF copy of the journal or ZIP file of the media. A reminder that you will have 90 days from when the journal or ZIP file was exported to download it, so do make sure to do this in time. To order a printed copy of the journal, click 'Order a printed book' (2). Please note, it is only possible to purchase printed copies of journals when they are between 46 and 1596 pages long. If this is not the case for your child's journal, please contact your child's school or setting. Next, you will be taken to the page where you will be able to order the book. Please read the information on this page before proceeding. You must first select both tick boxes (1) before you are able to click on 'Order Printed Book' (2). Please make sure you have read and understood those before you select them! Once you have selected this, you will get taken to the Group Hugs website where you are able to purchase the book. We have more good news! If your child has already left their school/early years setting and you have a copy of the PDF saved, then you will still be able to purchase a printed copy, it will just need to be done from the Group Hugs website. Some useful things to note here are: If your PDF does not include a cover page or the cover page only shows a silhouette placeholder image, then the front cover of the book will show a tree rather than a picture of your child. If you are uploading a PDF of a previous year directly to Group Hugs, and the PDF you have starts with an observation rather than a cover page or content pages, your printed book will show a tree instead of the child's picture, and the school name will not be shown. If you need any support with a book you have already ordered, or with the ordering process generally, please get in touch with settings@grouphugs.co.uk. Back to the main tutorial page
